Extreme Cold Warning

Warming Centers Open

An Extreme Cold Warning has been issued for our area. This warning is issued when dangerously cold air, with or without wind, is expected. Conditions could lead to frostbite or hypothermia. Limit time outside, dress in layers, and cover up exposed skin.

Residents in need of a warming center are encouraged to visit the Jefferson Valley Mall or the John C. Hart Memorial Library to warm up. The Town will evaluate opening the Capellini Center if there are widespread outages through Con Ed and NYSEG.

Saturday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Sunday: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM

John C. Hart Memorial Library
Saturday: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

    Hart Library Participates in “One County, One Read”

    The Hart Library will participate in the first One County, One Read initiative, a Westchester-wide literary event designed to foster community through a shared reading experience. In honor of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, all 38 public libraries in Westchester County will encourage residents to read the same book: The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Stacy Schiff.

2nd Half of School Tax Due January 31

The second half of school tax is due by January 31, 2026. Because this is a Saturday, payments can be made on February 2, 2026 without penalty.

Payments can be made by either check, cash, money order, or online check payments and can be made in person at the tax office between 8 AM - 4 PM, by mail post marked by 02/02/2026*, or placed in the green after hours drop box behind Town Hall.

*Request your mail be hand stamped, to ensure it is post marked by 02/02/2026.
