Join us at the library on Saturday, June 14th from 12-3 pm as we welcome the SPCA Mobile Adoption Unit, which is the first of its kind in Westchester County. There will be crafts for kids to create and animals available for adoption.

Pickleball Courts at Granite Knolls Update

May 30, 2025 – Pickleball Court Project Slight Delay

Our anticipation for the Pickleball Courts was to be open by last weekend but some early spring cold weather and some late spring showers has delayed the project.

The Court surface has been poured, the fencing is currently getting installed and painting of the courts is around the corner.

We will have more information next week with opening dates for the new courts!

Guiding Eyes for the Blind Breaks Ground on New Wellness and Training Center

May 29, 2025 – Town officials attended a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday for Guiding Eyes for the Blind’s new 30,000-square-foot Wellness & Training Center at 2501 Mohansic Avenue.

“The new facility marks a vital step forward, expanding our ability to bring joy, connection, and independence to people living with vision loss across the country. We’ve proudly been part of the Town of Yorktown since 1954, and with this new facility just two miles from our headquarters, we’re investing in the future—right here in the community we call home,” said Guiding Eyes President and CEO Eduardo Andrade.

"This new Wellness & Training Center is a tremendous asset for countless individuals with vision loss who will benefit from the incredible work done by Guiding Eyes for the Blind," said Yorktown Supervisor Ed Lachterman. "Their dedication to fostering independence and enhancing lives is truly inspiring, and we're proud to support their continued growth right here in our community."

Community Lego Building Competition

Think you’ve got what it takes to be a future LEGO® Master Builder? The Yorktown Museum would love to see it! From July 14, 2025 to July 18, 2025 by 3 pm, we will be accepting builds for our first Community LEGO® Build Competition.

All ages are welcome, but here’s the catch: To be eligible for one of our top three prizes, your creation must be a reflection of our competition theme of “Masterpieces.”

We want to see builds inspired by your favorite work of art or the everyday things around you that you consider extraordinary. What does extraordinary look like to you?
