Town Board Liaison: Councilwoman Susan Siegel

On July 14, 1964, the Town Board resolved to adopt an ordinance to establish the Advisory Board on Architecture and Community Appearance (ABACA) to protect the town from the harmful effects of inappropriate and poor quality design. The ABACA continues to review all site plan and subdivision applications to provide guidance in the architectural design of proposed developments. The ABACA also reviews commercial sign permit applications to maintain consistent, high quality, and character enhancing signage is placed throughout town.

A Signage Ordinance Manual was written in 2003 to be used as a companion to the Town's signage ordinance to guide business owners to navigate the sign ordinance as well as aid in the creation of signage that is unique to the individual character of each business hamlet.
