Senior Advisory Committee
The Town of Yorktown Senior Advisory Committee is a non-political committee, appointed by the Town Board, representing the senior citizens of Yorktown, New York.

About the Committee
Our Mission is to have a positive impact on the Town of Yorktown and its senior citizens as we work together to accomplish the following:
- Enhance the Quality of Life for our community and senior population
- Elicit senior concerns, raise awareness, report back to the Town Board, and advocate for solutions to the needs of seniors
- Increase access and mobility for seniors within an age friendly community
- Garner opportunities for seniors to participate fully in the life of the community
- Advocate for support services for seniors
- Attend meetings of organizations that are of significance to senior issues
- To serve as a liaison between seniors and members of the Town Board
- Provide a channel for the dissemination of information regarding senior programs, activities and services
- Advocate for adequate Accessible Parking
- Coordinate and strengthen public support for seniors
Goals
- Identify and Review current services and programs available to Yorktown Seniors and update as needed
- Meet periodically with Yorktown Senior Organizations and residents to gain input and report progress on the committee’s initiatives
- Meet regularly with liaisons to report progress and solicit support as needed
- Develop a list of services offered by other communities in order to keep abreast of all initiatives available and advocate them for our seniors
- Continually look for potential senior housing and recreational opportunities
- Work with the Town Board to implement proposals in a timely manner
- Research grant and funding opportunities that are available to seniors and the community
- Promote awareness of the Senior Advisory Committee through letters to editor, articles, press releases and electronic media
- Maintain liaisons with the Community Housing Board and Recreation Commission
- Set future goals each year

The Yorktown Senior Advisory Committee meets the third Friday of the month at the Yorktown Town Hall, 363 Underhill Avenue, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598 at 1:00 pm.
