Yorktown Trailtown Commitee - Turtle Walk at Sylvan Glen
Turtle Walk at Sylvan Glen, led by Patricia Johnson
Learn about the Eastern painted turtles that inhabit Yorktown’s Sylvan Glen Preserve. Participants will hear about turtles and their importance to our ecosystem from Patricia Johnson, a herpetologist and licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Bring binoculars so that you can view basking turtles from a distance – they are shy and will disappear if disturbed!
Meet at the Sylvan Glen parking lot. From Route 202, take Lexington Avenue ½ mile to Morris Lane on the right, and head straight to the parking lot at the bottom of the hill.
The Yorktown Trail Town Committee is a volunteer 501c(3) not-for-profit committee that seeks to provide greater recreational, health and social benefits to Yorktown residents and visitors and promote economic development publicizing the town’s existing network of foot and bike trails.
