Bio-Baggies for Pet Waste

Utilizing funds from the NYSDEC grant for stormwater education and outreach, the Westchester County Department of Planning has obtained 15,000 biodegradable bio-baggies for pet waste and is prepared to distribute them among our 38 municipal partners. As one of these partners, the Town of Yorktown received 1,000 bio-baggies to distribute to residents.

The travel sized bio-baggy is packaged in a reusable pocket sized dispenser, which is large enough to hold 10 bags. Their purpose is to promote proper pickup and disposal of pet waste, which can be a major source of bacteria and excess nutrients in local waters.
