Free Rides to Vaccine Appointments from United Way

Through our Ride United program, United Way of Westchester and Putnam is offering free Lyft rides (up to $25 each direction) to vaccine appointments for those individuals who are not receiving Medicaid assistance . Those interested in partnering with United Way can email vaccinerides@uwwp.org (link sends e-mail).

The process for the program is that once clients have scheduled a vaccine appointment, they can apply for free ride to and from the vaccine clinics online at uwwp.org/vaccine-rides. After completing the registration form the recipient will be emailed a unique code that will discount rides up to $25 in each direction. The client must have access to a smartphone in order to schedule the Lyft ride. Lyft is available in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

Get a Free Lyft to Your Vaccine Appointment

• Program covers rides up to $25 in each direction. Costs exceeding $25 will be the responsibility of the user.
   
• A code can only be applied to two trips.
   
• Medicaid recipients are not eligible for this program. They can call their Medicaid provide to cover the cost of transportation.
   
• Rides can only be used as transportation to and from a vaccine clinic site.
   
• Users can apply for a second code to use Lyft as transportation to and from the second shot.
