Virtual Public Statement Hearings Set Regarding Con Edison’s Electric & Gas Delivery Rates

The New York State Public Service Commission will hold virtual public statement hearings on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, and Wednesday, April 9, 2025, concerning proposed changes in the electric and gas delivery rates and practices of Con Edison.

Under New York State law, the Commission must consider a utility's rate proposal and may adopt or reject it, in whole or in part, or modify it. In doing so, the Commission will consider changes proposed by the participating parties and the public. Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) are presiding over the gathering of public comments and all evidence relating to the proposals. As indicated in this press release, public statement hearings will be held over two days to obtain comments from the public concerning Con Edison’s proposals.

Yorktown Warns of Application Fee Scam Targeting Planning and Zoning Applicants

The Town of Yorktown is alerting the public to an application fee scam targeting individuals and businesses with applications pending before the Planning and Zoning Boards. Town staff received reports from two applicants who were on the March 24th Planning Board agenda indicating they received fraudulent emails requesting application fees be paid via wire transfer. These emails used a fake email address impersonating Planning Director John Tegeder.

Yorktown NEVER sends invoices requesting payment via wire transfer. Applicants should contact the Planning Department directly regarding any fee requests.
