Albert A. Capellini Community & Cultural Center
The Albert A. Capellini Community and Cultural Center is a not-for-profit, tax exempt organization whose purpose is to enrich the quality of life in Yorktown and the adjacent communities.
A variety of Community Center's tenants provide education, arts and public service programs. The Town of Yorktown Parks & Recreation Department and community groups develop and host a wide range of programs here. The Section 8 Housing Program and the Town of Yorktown Planning Department are also located at the Center.
The Albert A. Capellini Community & Cultural Center is home to the Senior Nutrition Center which provides daily nutrition, recreation and educational programs for our community's seniors and to several independent senior clubs and organizations.
The Yorktown Teen Center is located at the Albert A. Capellini Community & Cultural Center
The Center is also home to a 550 seat performing arts theater, The Yorktown Stage, and to the Yorktown Museum.
Support for the center has come from numerous public and private sources. State, local and federal grants have helped to make the Community Center a viable institution.
A building office manager handles the day-to-day operations, schedules activities, and coordinates the use of the rooms in the facility. Space, including classrooms, large meeting rooms and a gymnasium, are available for rent. Contact the office manager to schedule your event at (914) 962-5758.
In order to fulfill its mission, the Community Center will:
- Provide appropriate settings for cultural, educational and recreational performances, programs and activities which serve members of our community.
- Administer and manage the buildings and grounds of the Community Center.
- Continue to develop the physical property.
- Maximize earned and contributed income and operate in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Continue to develop staff and volunteer organizations as necessary to support the Community Center.
