Notice of Special Election for Mandatory Referendum in the Lake Mohegan Fire District on March 29, 2023

LEGAL NOTICE

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that at a Special Meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Lake Mohegan Fire District held at the Jefferson Valley Fire Station located at 500 Lee Blvd., Yorktown Heights, NY, Town of Yorktown, held on the 23 day of February, 2023, a Resolution was signed authorizing the purchasing of a 2023 Seagrave Pumper and refurbishment of Ladder 35, a 2003 Smeal Quint, with an amount of $1,250,000.00 to be financed through Leasing2.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the adoption of the Resolution to borrow funds for this purchase is subject to a Mandatory Referendum must be approved at a Special Election by the tax payers residing within the Fire District.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, this action requires a Mandatory Referendum to be approved by the taxpayers of both the Town of Cortlandt and the Town of Yorktown. There will be a Special Election held on March 29, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM to approve or not approve this purchase. Residents of both towns will be able to vote at the Jefferson Valley Fire Station, 500 Lee Boulevard, Jefferson Valley, NY.
