Supervisor Slater Tests Positive for COVID-19; Cancels Attendance at Events

(May 20, 2022) — Yorktown Supervisor Matt Slater has tested positive for COVID-19 and will immediately quarantine.

Supervisor Slater and all members of his family received positive COVID-19 test results on Friday. Supervisor Slater then took a PCR test, whose results will become available on Saturday afternoon.

As of Friday, Supervisor Slater did not have any serious COVID-19 symptoms.

“It’s everyone’s social responsibility to quarantine when they receive a positive result,” said Supervisor Slater. “I’m glad that I’m vaccinated and boosted, and I’d like to remind others to get their shots because this pandemic is not over.”

Supervisor Slater’s cancellations include his attendance at Yorktown’s Hudson Valley Honor Flight on Saturday with veterans.
