Westchester County Health Department's Insurance Access Program Can Help Individuals and Families Obtain Health Insurance Through New York State’s Health Marketplace

Individuals and families who are not insured through an employer may be eligible for affordable coverage through the New York State’s Health Marketplace. Navigators with the Westchester County Department of Health’s Insurance Access Program (HIAP) provide New York State residents with free or low cost insurance through the Marketplace. 

NY State of Health offers a choice of health plans and help finding the appropriate plan. Free or low-cost coverage is available through Medicaid, the Essential Plan, Child Health Plus or a Qualified Health Plan with tax credits.

All health plans offered through the Marketplace include doctor’s visits, hospital stays, emergency care, maternity and newborn care, mental health and substance abuse disorder services, prescription drug coverage, rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices, laboratory services, preventive and wellness services, chronic disease management, and pediatric dental and vision coverage. Preventive care, such as routine office visits and recommended screenings, are free.
