Yorktown Adopts 2024 Budget with No Tax Levy Increase
The Town Board adopted a $69 million 2024 budget on Tuesday with no tax levy increase.
“The Town Board voted for a responsible spending plan that is mindful of our taxpayers who are facing rising costs for food, energy and other essentials,” said Supervisor Tom Diana. “At the same time, this budget allows us to preserve the services our residents expect and to continue the improvements to our Town’s roads, water mains and parks.”
The adopted 2024 budget allows the Town to pursue new improvement projects, including the construction of a culvert on Broad Street; a retaining wall stabilization project on Ridge Street; and the paving of approximately seven miles of local roads.
The 2024 budget is the third year in a row that the tax levy did not increase. Yorktown’s municipal budget represents about 10 percent of homeowners’ total tax bill. Town taxes fund the general operating budget.
