Yorktown Town Hall Begins New Hours
09/15/20 - Town Hall changed its operating hours today to better serve the public.
The new hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The new schedule offers the public an opportunity to conduct town business before regular business hours.
“Town Hall must accommodate the schedules of working adults. This shift to an earlier opening time is part of my administration’s effort to simplify interactions with town government and make Town Hall more accessible,” said Supervisor Matt Slater. “Already this year we modernized our Town’s website, implemented an online portal for our Parks & Recreation programs and services and expanded our social media footprint in the last month by 56% on Facebook alone. We will continue reviewing our operations to find new ways to make doing business with town government and accessing information as easy as possible for the residents we serve.”
Town Hall’s new hours come a week after municipal officials announced a resumption of indoor, in-person meetings by appointment only. Visitors to all town facilities will be expected to submit to a temperature screening and they will be required to answer a Covid-19 questionnaire. Town officials’ safety precautions include the installation of plastic barriers at counters.
Yorktown departments will continue to hold virtual conferences for anyone who is not comfortable with in-person visits.
