Building Permit Applications

Section 300-195 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Yorktown requires that a Building Permit be issued by the Building Inspector before any building or structure is erected, enlarged, altered or moved. 

Applicants MUST read the Application Instructions sheet attached below in order to submit all the appropriate documents required for a building permit application. 

A completed application for review by the Advisory Board on Architecture and Community Appearance (ABACA) is required prior to the issuance of a building permit for all of the following applications:

  1. All new commercial buildings
  2. All signs
  3. All residences in a subdivision approved by the Planning Board
  4. All exterior alterations to existing commercial buildings
