Hart Library Summer Reading Game Kickoff
The John C. Hart Memorial Library will launch its annual Summer Reading Game on June 26th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Summer Reading Game encourages and celebrates the joy of reading throughout the summer months. This initiative is particularly crucial for younger children, helping them maintain and enhance their reading skills as they transition to the next grade level. Consistent reading over the summer prevents the "summer slide," ensuring children return to school ready to tackle new challenges with confidence and a love for books.
"We are excited to launch another summer of reading fun for the entire family," said Library Director Yvonne Cech. "Our goal is to inspire a lifelong love of reading and learning in our community, for all ages."
The kickoff event will feature a bouncy house, inflatable sports, craft tables, local firetruck, character meet/greets, free popcorn, and a bake sale provided by the Friends of the Library. Participants will receive reading logs and book recommendations tailored to their age and interests.
