Disposing of medication improperly, such as flushing it down the toilet or pouring it down the drain, can lead to pollution in our water supply. Safe disposal helps protect our health, our environment and keeps prescription drugs away from young people and others who may misuse them. Assemblyman Matt Slater is proud to partner with Alliance for Safe Kids, Drug Crisis in Our Backyard, and Yorktown Police Department on this important initiative.

Accepted Items:

• Prescription medication, ointments, patches
• Over-the-counter medications
• Vitamins
• Samples
• Medications for pets

Items NOT Accepted:

• Needles
• Thermometers
• Inhalers
• Aerosol Cans
• Ointments, lotions, or liquids

Please bring your medications in a clear plastic bag. If in their original prescription bottles, remove the label with your personal information on it.
