Yorktown Chipotle Enjoys Successful Opening
August 2, 2024 – Chipotle’s new store design at the Lowe’s shopping center—the first in New York—has received a warm embrace from the public.
The store at 3180 Crompond Road at the Taconic State Parkway opened on June 26 with a contemporary design that uses new materials and artwork to underscore the company's commitment to “food with integrity." The new store design consists of a wood tile floor, an art wall, and metal ceiling, among other flourishes.
“The opening of yet another national chain in one of our commercial corridors demonstrates Yorktown’s continued attractiveness to corporate retailers searching for quality, family-friendly communities with disposable income,” said Supervisor Ed Lachterman. “We expect to see more national retailers open their doors later this year, which bodes well for shoppers and our tax base.”
Chipotle is a fast-casual restaurant serving Mexican-inspired cuisine, including burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and salads. The company uses fresh ingredients for its food and Chipotle claims to be the first national restaurant brand to commit to using only responsibly raised meat with high animal welfare standards.
Chipotle takes its name from the Mexican word for ripe, dried, and smoked jalapeño peppers that possess a spicy and bittersweet flavor. The store is open daily from 10:45 a.m. until 10 p.m.
