Yorktown Officials Celebrate the Opening of X Sushi Express on Commerce Street

March 1, 2024 –A new restaurant is bringing the flavors of Japanese cuisine to Yorktown Heights.

Yorktown officials celebrated the opening of X Sushi Express at 1925 Commerce Street on February 23. The restaurant’s offerings include a variety of maki rolls, sushi, sashimi, and salads.

X Sushi Express is owned by Jack Xiao, whose restaurants are well known to Yorktown residents. He operates Wild Fusion in Mohegan Lake, and he formerly owned the Stone Rose Steakhouse at the Jefferson Valley Mall.

“Jack Xiao and his family represent the beautiful American Dream. He immigrated to the United States from Fuzhou, China when he was a teenager, and with his family they have built an impressive list of restaurants in our community,” said Deputy Supervisor Ed Lachterman. “It is our pleasure to celebrate their hard work and success.”

Xiao’s parents operate China Star, which sits next to X Sushi Express in the Catalo Building.
