Lowe's Home Center
The Lowe's Home Center is currently under construction at the northwest corner of the intersection of the Taconic State Parkway (TSP) and Route 202. The project includes a 120,654 square foot Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse with garden center, a 7,600 square foot proposed restaurant/retail pad, a 4,500 square foot restaurant/retail pad, and a 4,000 square foot bank/retail pad.
As part of the approval of the Lowe's development, the Planning Board required significant improvements to NYS Route 202 totaling $3Million. Shown below is a summary of these improvements which include:
- An additional lane under the Taconic State Parkway so that both directions of traffic have have full length left turning lanes to the TSP on ramps.
- When driving eastbound, a dedicated lane straight up the hill, in addition to a left turn lane into the Lowe's development and the right turn only lane to the TSP southbound ramp.
- From Mohansic Avenue, a left turn lane, a straight through lane and a right turn lane onto Route 202.
- Extension of the NYS DOT's sidewalk at Old Crompond Road, across the front of the Lowe's property, under the TSP, and continuing to Strang Boulevard where a new crosswalk to FDR Park will be installed.
- Traffic signal timing will be adjusted to accommodate the new traffic patterns once construction is completed.
